Flapjacks

These Flapjacks are very easy to make and tasty too :)
Give it a try for a yummy sweet snack :)


Ingredients:
4 cups of porridge oats
1 cup brown packed sugar
2 rounded Tbsp of golden syrup
3 tbs Butter
1 tsp ground ginger

Preparation Method:
Pre heat oven to 150

Put the porridge oats in a large bowl.
Now add the sugar, golden syrup and butter to a pan and heat until melted and syrupy. 
Set the syrup aside.
Add Ginger powder to the oats and mix through.
Now add syrup to the oats and mix through until the oats are coated well.

Line a baking tray with grease proof paper and pour in the oat mixture and press down to the desired thickness.

Put the baking tray in the middle shelf of the oven and bake for 30 - 40 minutes until golden brown.

Let the the mixture cool completely and cut into squares.

  1. how interesting is the English language. Flap jacks are pan cakes in N. America...not exactly sure what these would translate into...they look a bit like breakfast cookies or Scottish oat cakes
