Spicy Chickpea Burgers

Spicy Chickpea Burgers

These burgers are delicious and easy to make :) lovely served with chips or a salad :)

Ingredients:
1 can of chickpeas
1 diced onion
1 diced bell pepper (any colour)
1 teaspoon 3G paste
ground cumin
ground coriander
 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
2-3 slices of white bread
1 egg
salt to taste
Burger buns

Preparation Method:
Preheat oven to 190
Whiz up the bread in a blender to make fine bread crumbs
and set aside in a bowl.
Add the onion and pepper to the blender and pulse it 2 or 3 times ( do not puree) and put in a large bowl
Wash the chickpeas and add to the blender and pulse till broken but not pureed and add to the bowl.
add the 3G paste to the mixture in the bowl
in a small bowl add the egg, cumin and coriander powder, salt and cayenne pepper and whisk it with a fork.
Add the egg mix to the mixture and stir well until it's mixed thoroughly.
Now add the the bread crumbs a little at a time until it all comes together and is easy to make the patties. If the mixture is still too soft form patties you may need to make more bread crumbs.
Form round patties and place on a lightly oiled baking tray.
Pop in the oven on 190 for 10 minutes on each side ( 20 mins all together.)
Serve in a bun with whatever you like in your burger.
Enjoy :)

    1. Thank you so much for your comment :) I haven't tried the recipe with rice, does it help to bind the patties? I must have a go :)
