Orange Brownies

I made some Orange flavoured Sugar a few days ago so I had to try it out in baking to see what it tasted like. So I decided to make these delicious orange Brownies with it.
I didn't have to add extra zest as I had the orange sugar already made but it tastes the same this way :)

Ingredients:
1 orange.
2 cups of granulated sugar
1 and 1/2 cups of all purpose flour
1 tsp salt
1 cup or 2 sticks of butter(softened)
4 eggs
1 tsp grated zest from one orange plus extra for frosting.
1 tbs of juice from orange.

Frosting:
1 table spoon of cream cheese
4 tbsp butter
1/2 cup Icing sugar
2 tbs juice from orange
orange zest to sprinkle

Preparation Method:
Pre heat oven to 175

Sieve flour and salt into a large bowl.

Now in another bowl add the eggs, butter, sugar and orange rind and  juice and cream together until smooth.

Add the mixture into the flour and mix well until it forms a smooth batter.

Grease and flour a baking tray or tin.

Pour the batter into the tray and pop in the oven for 30 minutes. Please check your brownie cake after 25 minutes as oven temps vary.

In the mean time prepare your frosting.

Add the cream cheese , icing sugar and orange juice into a bowl and cream together until smooth.

Now that the brownie cake is ready. Prick holes all over with a fork and spread the frosting all over the top.
Sprinkle extra orange zest on top to make it look even more prettier :)

Enjoy With a cuppa :)

As the topping contains cream cheese please store in the fridge.
