Scrumptious sticky Buns

These Sticky buns are very easy to make and taste scrumptious with lashings of butter and a cup of your favourite hot drink :)

Ingredients:

450 g Strong white bread flour.
1 tsp salt
75 g sugar
2 tsp Fast acting yeast
150 ml milk
150 ml water
50 g butter
Icing sugar as needed

Preparation Method:
Sieve the flour, salt and sugar into a large mixing bowl and add the yeast.

Now add the milk water and butter to a pan and heat gently until the butter has melted and remove from the heat. Alternatively put in a microwave proof container and microwave for a minute.
Let the the mixture cool until it's just warm not hot.

Pour the mixture into the dry ingredient an stir and mix through with a knife.

The Mixture will be sticky and unmanageable at this stage but don't worry after kneading on a floured surface it will eventually come together and form a soft elastic dough :)

After 5-8 minutes of kneading and stretching the dough with the heals of your palms it will come together .
Place the dough into a clean bowl, cover it with cling film and put it in a warm place for an hour to let it rise and double in size.

Now the dough has risen.
Pre heat the oven to 180.

Roll into equal balls and place in a round baking tin or arrange on a baking tray (un greased) And cover with clingfilm and allow to rise for a further 15 minutes.

Pop the baking tray or tin into the oven and bake for 15- 20 minutes. Times may vary according to types of ovens so keep an eye on them.
After the time is up check the bottom of one of the buns to see if when tapped it has a hollow sound. If it has, the buns are ready. If not and the bottom is still soggy, put it back in the oven for a few more minutes until cooked through.

The buns are now ready to be iced :)
For the Icing;
4-5 tbsp of Icing sugar
A few drops of boiling water
1 tsp vanilla extract (optional)

Whisk it all up til you get the desired consistency and spread or drizzle all over the buns.

Don't they look scrumptious :)

Enjoy warm or cooled down with a nice brew :)
